I went back there one last time. My son was with me.

It had been about 20 years, our station was pretty much intact. But something was wrong; and I could feel it.

A great sadness came over me as I remembered what was there and what was gone.

Above and behind me was a Western Union Telegraph sign I had put up there back then.

I asked my son to help me take down the sign. He said “Dad, we’re stealing the sign.”

I replied to him “I put this sign up there and now I will take it down.”

And it has since been in the room where I am typing this tonight.

She had beautiful red hair. She was not one dimensional.

A complicated person. Not every moment was perfect.

But I loved her. I was beguiled!

On occasion, she had these uncanny paranormal experiences.

In retrospect, she was probably the Selkie that came out of the sea to find me.

At the end of her life, she chose to return to the sea.
